How do I access my Office 365 account? Please visit https://mail.gordon.edu to log in using your Gordon College username and password.
Who gets an Office 365 account? All Gordon College Faculty, Staff, Students and Alumni automatically have Office 365 accounts. Your Gordon College username and password is also your account login for Office 365.
Can Gordon College faculty and staff receive an Office 365 account? Yes, Gordon College Faculty and Staff automatically have access to OneDrive, as well as free downloads of MS Office Suite.
What features come with my Office 365 alumni account? Access to Gordon College email, contacts, calendar, and other Office 365 Online Apps.
How do I download Microsoft Office onto my Mac/PC/device? Go to the top of this page and click on the Download link, log in with your Gordon College username and password.
What is the difference between my Office 365 account and the “Office 365 University” product? Your Office 365 account is provided by Gordon College to all students and alumni. It is directly attached to your normal Gordon College @gordon.edu account. This account gives you free access to Microsoft web-based tools, such as email, OneDrive, and web browser versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Office 365 University is a fee-based software subscription between you and Microsoft that allows you to download and install Microsoft applications on multiple devices. Services purchased via Office 365 University are NOT tied to your Gordon College account.
How do I use the new features like OneDrive and online versions of Microsoft Office? Please see the Microsoft support site for the most current and accurate Office 365 support materials. There are links to specific applications at the top of this page.
What happens when I graduate from Gordon College?
Your account is re-licensed as an alumni account one semester after your date of graduation.
You keep access to your Gordon College email for life.
You no longer have full access to Microsoft's Desktop Apps and can purchase an Office 365 product through Microsoft or another online vendor.
If I am about to graduate, how can I prepare regarding Office 365? You will lose access to OneDrive, your online file storage. To avoid losing your files stored there, download all files and documents onto your personal computer. Files can be re-uploaded to the cloud using a free service like Google Drive if you prefer.
If you have downloaded Microsoft Office onto your personal computer or mobile device through your Gordon College account, your license will no longer be active and you will not be able to use those programs, you can purchase access through Microsoft or another online vendor.
Users can access Office 365 Education software and benefits through the Microsoft Office 365 portal. Students should login using their Crimson email address and myBama password. Faculty and staff should login using their [email protected] e-mail address and myBama password.
To install Office ProPlus on your computer, visit the Office 365 portal, and click Install Office. Once the app is installed, login to Office 365 using your Crimson email address or [email protected] email address. Additional installation instructions are available. To install Office 365 apps on your mobile devices, visit the app store on your device.

When can new students begin using Office 365 Education?
New students can begin using Office 365 Education two weeks before their first class begins.
Where can I get help installing Office 365 Education?
For installation instructions and troubleshooting information for Office 365, visit Microsoft 365’s website. If you need additional assistance, come by the IT Service Desk located at 125 Gordon Palmer.
Can I use the software offline?
Yes. However, you must connect the device to the Internet at least once every 30 days to verify the license.
Do I have to upgrade to Office ProPlus?
As OIT continues the campus-wide migration of faculty and staff mailboxes to the O365 environment, campus users will find the most seamless migration experience occurs when desktop software has been upgraded to Microsoft Office ProPlus.
I already have an Office 365 subscription, can I be reimbursed?
No. Microsoft does not have a process by which to convert, reimburse, or migrate licensing. Office 365 Education, including Office 365 ProPlus software, is only available through the University’s existing agreement with Microsoft.
What happens when I graduate or leave UA?
Once you are no longer enrolled in classes or terminate employment at UA, your subscription to Office 365 Education will end and your account will be deactivated. You should locally save your content stored on OneDrive before you leave the University as you will lose access to the data once the subscription is terminated. You may enroll into other consumer or commercial offers available, but there is not currently a mechanism in place to transfer your data from an Office 365 Education OneDrive account to a consumer Office 365 OneDrive account.
How do I reset my password for Office 365 Education?
Your Office 365 Education and myBama accounts are linked. To reset your Office 365 Education password, you must reset your myBama password.
Can I install and use Office 365 Education applications and services on my University-owned machines?
Yes. University-owned machines are also covered under the Microsoft Campus Agreement.
